On the fourth & fifth floor at Via Nazionale 230, about 200 metres from Piazza della Republicca. Building is legal/commerce on lower floors, so you enter by intercom after 8pm when the business day is done. Ample breakfast in a bright if oft crowded two room area, good storage to get the kit out of the cases, safe, shower, hair dryer air conditioning minibar and cable TV. Five minutes or so from Termini, about 10 from the Trevi (once you discover where the Via Milano to Via Traforo tunnel takes you, like the corners of a Cluedo board!) , 12 from Spanish Steps and fifteen minutes or so from Trastevere. A double room with breakfast in August is Eu80- Eu90 booked on the net direct with the hotel, Eu80 in 2006 for second year runnning, in season September is nearer Eu160
Clean comfortable and quiet enough, a few storeys above one of the busiest shopping streets in Rome Leave a Comment

 | | | | Hotel Miami: Nicely Furbished hotel

We stayed at this hotel and found the interior to be quite nice, it has green, gold dark shiny wood appearance. The staff was very helpfull. It has a fairly nice breakfast room, that serves a good selection of European style breakfast on one of the floors of the hotel. American breakfast is not served which is common in most all hotels there, however there is a Mc Donalds 2-3 blocks down if you must have eggs, sausages, hash browns or pancakes. I didn't think I would ever eat American food in Rome very low class, but I found an overwhelming necessity to eat eggs, sausages, etc after a few days. Rooms are small,as is common in Europe, but impeccably nice and clean with in room bath. No view on the courtyard side, but a view on the street side. What I found distrubing about our stay was the noise level. In the am when the staff opened hall closets to clean which continued till mid afternoon the various noices made it disturbing. It may depend on your room or floor selection as to how this effects you, but I decided not to stay at here on my next trip, because of this noise level, which may not effect others.
The hotel is centrally located, which is good and not so good. Rome is like any very large modern city, and this hotel is in a downtown like surroundings. A four lane street is in front of the hotel, and you'll get thestreet noise from the street. This may or may not effect some people, but you should be aware of it particulary if you have a room on the street side, sirens go by at night. Good points, a pharmacy type store is next to the hotel, several restaurants, a good size grocery store is about 4 blocks away, money changers, and many buses run in front of the hotel. Its not a bad rundown part of the town. The staff is very helpful in helping you learn the correct buses and where youre going. The subway stop is about 10 minute walk down the street, which takes you to or near important sites also. The Terminal Station, is about a good 15-20 minute walk. I wouldn't hwever carry large bags that distance. The desk has tour brochures. Next time for our tastes, we'll stay in a quieter place but near a bus or subway stop.
