Although the room was small and cosy, it was beautifully decorated and looked very grand, as did the rest of the hotel and the bathroom was clean, nicely decorated and well lit too. My room faced the street but I had no problem with noise from outside and I couldn’t hear any from the other people staying at the hotel either.
The hotel is very well located for transport, being just a few minutes’ walk from Milan’s Central Station, so it is perfect if you are arriving by train and if you are flying you can take the train or bus directly from the airport to this area. As the weather was fine and I’d noticed a route through a pretty park, I also enjoyed walking to and from the hotel to reach the area by the Duomo, where many of the places I wanted to visit were located but it would be easy to use public transport from the Central Station instead.
Included in the price was a nice breakfast of coffee, bread and fruit but I did not eat any other meals at the hotel.
I had a big shock when I looked up the cost per night of this hotel, on their website, in order to write this tip, and saw how expensive it is; I certainly didn't pay that much! It looks like I got a better deal than I realised at the time, by booking with Expedia. I remember thinking it seemed rather smart for such a cheap place!
