 | Dublin Wagamama Reviews | Tips 1 - 10 of 13 | | With a dozen person kitchen staff on the South King Street location, Wagamama Dublin runs as effectively as expected of the chain. The menu is also the same as in all other locations, except the winter special menu was not offered, I wasn't sure whether the company has stopped creating seasonal dishes or this practice was not carried out outside of London. The same health conscious dishes and same huge servings are offered here, and the level of energy that a Wagamama crew in every location emit is one of the reasons for the successful of this chain of noodle bar.
We have tried everything on Wagamama's menu, and in my opinion, the least tasteful dishes are made with teppan noodles, followed by chilli men. They are not bad dishes, just not as good as the others. I used to visiting Wagamama in London so when I had a chance to go to Dublin, I decided to eat at Wagamama, partly for eating nostalgia, partly for comparing Wagamama restaurants from various locations. Besides, Wagamama is one of the smoke-free restaurants in Dublin. I love minimimalistic zen interior design, so visiting any places with that style is my hobby. In its early years, it had great reviews due to its unique concept, but tastewise, Wagamama is nothing special. When I visited Wagamama in Dublin, I realized that it had expanded its menu. Waiting in line is worth it for a taste of the Japanese cuisine offered by this noodle house. The seating style is cafeteria, with small shelves under the table for purses and coats. We were seated between a German family and a group of young Dubliners. Not really a place that inspires quiet conversation as you're competing with the wait staff and those around you. But, the service is very quick once you're seated, thanks to the staffs electronic ordering skills.
I enjoyed shrimp tempura noodles (fried) but gazed longingly at the ramen bowls (soup) that kept coming past. The portions were huge but we didn't end up taking our leftovers back to the hotel because it wasn't convenient. May be good size for two moderately hungry people to share. The food tastes ok, not so good, not too bad, just enough to fulfill my craving for something Asian in Ireland. Noisy place, go early to avoid long line-ups as it is very popular. In a basement, with high ceilings...long picnic tables with benches that you share with other people. Paper placemats. As the server takes your orders, he punches it into an electronic device which sends the information directly to the kitchen so don't be surprised it you do not all get served at the same... the food you order is delivered as soon as it is ready. The food is good. A great selection is available on the menu.
