 | Rome Nightlife | Tips 21 - 30 of 336 | | Popular Nightlife | Other Nightlife Tips | All Tips (336) This place is one of those "slash" places. Part restaurant / bar / pub / club. Whatever you want to call it, it is a good time. This place was jam packed with a bunch of crazy Italians and tourists. Thats what my guidebook said, thats what it was. They have drink specials late into the night, which I found other clubs did not do. The snack food was not worrth writing home about. Give it a pass by eating before you go out. Also, they will try and make you buy a "membership" pass for the year, for 5 Euro. If you aren't too big of a group, I am sure that you will be able to talk your way out of it like we did. It is located in Trastevere, so its a bit of a hike out, but worth it in the end. 9pm-3am Sun, Mon; Wed-Fri; 9pm-4am Sat; closed Tue Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubAddress: Via di Monte Testaccio, 65bPhone: 39 065750044Directions: In the Testaccio quarter in Trastevere

This is a really cool club, very different from the rest of the nightclubs in Rome. The music is, house, electro, or music you might hear in Goa. Almost Bollywood'ish. And they serve ethnic, frozen cocktails that taste really really good! Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubAddress: via libetta, 13

In the first room, the bar, you can try one of the many tropical cocktails (cuba libre, mojito, caipirinha and many others) together with a sandwich or other snacks offered at the bar. The second main room, if you manage to get there, is the entertainment room and its where the dance floor and the stage are situated. Live music rock and pop covers are played on Friday and Saturday nights followed by dancemusic that goes on until closing time. This tips should probably be classified as an amusement park! Romping about Roma with VT friend, Kathryn, it occurred to me that she just must see Jonathan's. We had spent such a lovely time in the rear salon of Cafe Antico Greco - now we had a rare opportunity to go from the sublime to the ridiculous (literally)! We found Jonathan's and just ducked inside as one of those impromptu little rainstorms hit the streets of Rome. I don't know what was more fun - the place itself or Kathryn's expressions as we discovered one off-beat item after another. The bathroom is not to be missed. I ordered Pernod w/water back and received a huge glass that was half full - easily 3 times the ordinary serving - Kathryn had a glass of wine and our bill was 12 Euro. In my favourite Rome neighbourhood, Trastevere, in a little square just between Viale Trastevere and Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, lies the Bar San Callisto , an unpretentious, no fuss bar that became one of my favourite hang-out. The bar in itself is not much to look at but the terrace gets filled up at night with students and the local bohemian crowd. The tiny square is quite cozy, it is facing the old San Callisto church, now abandoned. The drinks are cheap, it’s a very relaxing place and it’s easy to make new friends here.

Party animals, hear ye! After a hard day of sightseeing... and if you still have energy to party on, then you must set foot at the following clubs. PIPER at: Via Tagliamento, 9, Roma. (This is THE place to be and be seen in Rome.... Too bad. I didn't get to bump into any famous celebrity here. I was hoping to see Francesco Totti in person. Maybe he's busy with his wife and kid...) HEAVEN at: Viale di Porta Ardeatina, 118a, Roma (Another cool disco in Rome... but my personal preference is the PIPER) JACKIE O' at: Via Boncompagni, 11, Roma (You guessed it... Lots of well-known celebrities are known to congregate inside this club. And I DID get to bump into a few well-known Italian celebrities on the few occasions I was here, including the divine Miss Manuela Arcuri! No wonder men drool all over her cuz even I, a female, was quite taken in by her beauty! On that one occasion when I caught a glimpse of Manuela, she was with her then-boyfriend/ footballer, Francesco Coco. Er... please don't ask me whether they are still together....). MAGIC FLY at: Via Bassanello, 15, Roma (Not as rocking as Piper, Heaven or Jackie O. Perhaps you might like to check it out yourself. Who knows. Your taste maybe different from mine!). Photo: Sorry, I don't have any pics of the clubs mentioned above. So here's a photo of our Bank's lavish entertainment staged at the Castelli Romani... Enjoy!
Please... the people in Rome do dress up when they chill out at the clubs and discos. So - DRESS UP! ;-) Theme: Dancing

Jonathan's Angels in Via dell Fossa is worth a visit for the bizarrely-decorated toilets alone, let alone the amicable avant-garde atmosphere and great cocktails. The whole, small room is decorated with paintings made by the pictoresque owner, who is always sitting at the counter welcoming the guests! You can enjoy and dance good music played by the resident dj and, if you wish to know something about your future, there is also a fortune-teller available (by paying) to read your hand.! A bar housed in a former garage - hence the name (Breaks and Clutches). Just accross the bridge into Trastevere this small bar spills out into a little square, with candles burning and throngs of good looing people perched on the wall surrounding the square. The bar had a real buzz, which is what first draws the attention from the bottom of the steps, I found it to be a really friendly little bar with a good mix of patrons, the staff were friendly too and only too happy to help. Cocktails are a speciality and the Mojitos were amazing especially on a hot summers evening - the whole cocktail list looked fantastic and there seemed a good wine list too, although regretably I didn't sample any. There was also a very tempting buffet on offer which looked much better than the 2nd rate tourist crap I'd just eaten. The decor of the place was a juxtopisition between the futuristic and reclaimed which created a unique ambience.
