 | Rome Flights and Airline Tips | Tips 31 - 40 of 64 | | I think the best way to travel to and from Rome is by airplane if you are travelling from abroad. It's the fastest and the easiest. In our trip we used bus transportation to get distant places. It requires a little patient but anyway it was a good way to get aroud Rome. Theme: Airplane

Leonardo da Vinci (Fiumicino) airport is 26km (16mi) southwest of the city. One of the most convenient ways to get into town is by the Stazione Termini direct train, which usually runs hourly from the airport. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

Getting to Rome is easy. You'll most probably fly into Leonardo da Vinci airport in Fiumicino. From there it's a 30-minute ride on the shuttle train to Rome's Termini station. A one-way ticket on the shuttle costs EUR8.80. Termini station also serves the rest of Italy, so when you plan to go to Rome by train, you will also arrive here. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

On a trip to Rome from the U.S. you might save money by purchasing a cheap round-trip ticket to London first, and then using the European airfare seller E-Bookers.com to find a cut-rate onward flight to Rome. We would have saved a bundle if we had known this before our trip. Leave a Comment

Alitalia was a good airline to wisk you off to Rome. It sets the mood of the country before you arrive. The airline food was Italian and so was the wine. My favorite part of the flight was watching the flight attendents flirt with the Italian passengers. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

From Zurich airport you have connections to Rome several times a day. It only takes you about one hour and a half. You may find some special offers if you want to fly with Swiss. I agree, the service isn't as good as it was, but if you only want to fly cheap... Mostly you arrive at airport Fiumincino. From there you can take the taxi or the train. It takes you about half an hour to the station Termini in the very center of Rome. The tickets are 5 Euros. Not very cheap, but I think much less than the Taxi. Leave a Comment
