 | Rome Trevi Fountain Reviews | Tips 21 - 30 of 363 | | Trevi Fountain is the most famous fountain in Rome and the area is constantly packed with tourists. The fountain is dominated by a large statue of Neptune driving a chariot and was made famous internationally after the release of the 1954 film "Three Coins in a Fountain." You might also recognize it from the Fellini film "La Dolce Vita." Legend says that if you toss a coin into the fountain, you'll surely return to Rome. Brave the crowds, admire the fountain, toss in your coin.... and then help yourself to some gelato at one of the excellent gelato shops nearby (I recommend Blue Ice or San Crispino). Leave a Comment

One of the most beautiful fountain of Rome. It s Agrippa who brought the Acqua Vergin to Rome by building an acqueduc in the century b.c.. The fountain works started in 1641 and was was finished by the architect Salvi(1735). The sculptures on the right are said to represent the legend of the soldiers of Agrippa who were in the countryside looking for water and met this young girl who indicated them a pure water source. it s in the memory of this girl that they gave the name "virgin" to this water source. On the left, it s Agrippa explaining the plan of the acqueduc to Auguste. In the middle is the "Ocean s statue" in a shell shape cart pulled by winged horses. What can I say about this fountain... It's probably the most famous, perhaps in the world. Actually, it's a must see place, it occupies most of the space on the square it is located, happening to pop up from the buildings on one side of it... well, interesting... do not look for details, it is also populated by a mess of electric cables, and, definitively, coins. Do not know if your desires come true after donating to the fountain, but be careful in Rome: there are hundreds of fountains, so bring a lot of change if you want your desires come true... :) Leave a Comment Address: Fontana di TreviDirections: Very close to Pza. Colonna (in Via del Corso) and also to Pza. del Quirinale.

It is one of the most beautiful fountains of Rome and you absolutely have to see it! If you throw the coin into the water you can be sure you return to "Eternal City". I did it so I am sure I will return there in the future...:) It was designed by Nicola salvi in 1762 year. Leave a Comment

It may not be the most beautiful fountain in Rome but it is without doubt the most famous. You can go there at any time of the day or night and it would be always full of people. The fountain is the true masterpiece of sculpture and of architecture. If you pitch the coin in the fountin, don’t worry, you will come back to Rome again. Leave a Comment

The Trevi Fountain is just too beautiful for both words and pictures....you just have to see it to believe it! The fountain is Baroque in style and was designed by Nicola Salvi during 1732-its in amazing condition for its age! The fountain shows Neptunes chariot led by tritons with sea horses, representing the moods of the sea. Remember to throw a coin with your right hand over your left shoulder into the fountain to ensure that you return! We visited both during the day and after dark, both times it was busy, both times it was beautiful. Leave a Comment

Another tourist attraction with large crowds. Still, squeeze yourself to the front and throw a coin over your left? shoulder into the fountain. That's supposed to signify that you'll return to Rome in future. It is also a good place to get respite from the heat and see tourists from all over the world striking all kinds of poses for that memorable snapshot. Leave a Comment

I'm sure it's lovley..but I didn't get to see much of the Trevi Fountain. There were tourist all over the place, I just wanted to get out of there! It is said you return to Rome when you flip a coin over your shoulder and throw it in the fountain. I didn't do that...but I still hope to return though! Leave a Comment Address: Piazza di Trevi

The Trevi fountain is actually a facade of a building and the fountain is so enormous that it fills almost the entire square, leaving only a street. First throw a coin over your shoulder and make a wish (there is only one wish to make actually: to return to Rome someday) and second get yourself a San Crispino ice-cream around the corner (Via della Panetteria) and eat it at the steps of the Trevi fountain. Life can be so beautiful.... Leave a Comment Directions: Piazza di Trevi. Busstops at Piazza San Silvestro, cross Via del Tritone.

As you walk through a narrow street, looking around the buildings, tasting Rome, you'll find one of the city's most amazing fountain, the Fontana di Trevi. Built by the end of the 17th century by architect N. Salvi for the pope Clement XII, the fountain shows in the centre the statue of Poseidon with his carriage of 2 tritons. Many things can be said about this fountain, but you've got to be there to really feel what beauty is all about. And one thing: you've got to throw a coin in it, as this will definately guarantee you that you'll come back to Rome someday. Someday... Leave a Comment
